The Shine the Light Project is a grassroots movement which raises awareness about human rights issues facing humanity today - modern day slavery, sex trafficking, labor exploitation, and gun violence - through arts and education. 

 

The STL Project was founded in 2015 by Dorina Leslie, a massage therapist, holistic healer, and mother of three from Connecticut. She started out passionately answering the call of Mary Magdalene to be a voice for the nearly 30 million souls whose innocence has been stolen by traffickers for sex and labor exploitation. Dorina's mission is "to help these invisible children of the world to be seen and to be made whole again."  (More about Dorina...)

 

But we cannot solve a problem unless we know about it first, can we? In her mission, Dorina seeks to let people know that dirty little secrets like slavery still exist in our world - now more than ever. Through the power of positive thinking, we're raising the collective consciousness and creating change. The more people that become aware of modern day slavery, the better. The Shine the Light Project seeks to ignite a call to action by bringing art exhibits, dance and acting performances, lectures, film screenings, and music festivals to campuses and cities in the United States. Artists, musicians, photographers, dancers, film makers, and activists from all walks of life are invited to shine their light and lend their gifts to bring more peace, freedom, compassion, unconditional love and kindness into our world.
